National Key Accounts Sales Representative

Job description:

Petersen Industries, Inc. manufactures equipment for the solid waste, arboricultural, and aggregate markets. Petersen’s Lightning Loader® grapple truck is used by over 1,000 cities and counties nationwide, and by most major waste companies. Requirements for Consideration:

  • Extensive Travel (50% or more)
  • Excellent Customer relationship skills and able to effectively communicate in both blue and white collar environments.
  • Able to adapt to schedule changes on short notice
  • Have or able to acquire a Class-B CDL
  • Able to drive and operate heavy equipment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Products, specifically, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • 4-Year College Degree, preferably in Business
  • Minimum 2 years working experience

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for prospecting, researching, securing meetings, presentation preparation, presenting, closing and contracting with new customers
  • Manage and develop dealer network in Area of Operation
  • Oversee daily business activity using established processes including but not limited to: inside and outside sales activity, new product proposals, equipment demonstration, developing specifications with customers and chassis manufacturers: quoting, purchase order processing, and transition to production 
  • Generate Expense/Travel reports

Essential Functions:

  • Represents the company for the sales in defined sales territory.
  • Provide information regarding target markets to evaluate opportunities and threats in those markets/applications.
  • Develop strategies to expand sales within the targeted sales territories
  • Collaborate with internal resources to help determine best solutions for potential customers.
  • Brief management team on status of customers, quoting, and opportunities for growth.
  • Works to create a partnership with customer’s business.

Sales Strategy, Planning, and Execution:

  • Develop and implement strategies for increasing sales, while maintaining a qualified pipeline
  • Develop quarterly and annual revenue forecasts
  • Develop new customers to diversify customer base and grow revenue
  • Grow sales and margin among existing customer base
  • Maintain up-to-date, accurate, and informative call information, opportunity pipeline, and contacts in a CRM platform
  • Provide quotes to customers and follow through to receiving a signed purchase order

Field Quality/NDT Inspector

Job Purpose:

  • The Field Quality/NDT Inspector is responsible for conducting thorough field inspections of grapple boom trucks and components to ensure they meet safety standards and operational requirements. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to work safely without supervision. This is a 90% travel position requiring extensive travel throughout the United States and may at times include travel outside the United States.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspections:
    • Conduct comprehensive inspections of grapple boom truck components
    • Visual inspection of the equipment, welds, and components for damage or wear
    • UT inspection of critical load bearing components
    • Writing clear and concise inspection reports
  • Customer Interface:
    • Coordinate with customer for inspection space and schedule.
    • Provide customer with Documented maintenance needs or repairs advised.
    • Function as a subject matter expert providing information and guidance to customers regards operation and maintenance of Petersen loaders.
    • Be professional and courteous at all times as a representative of Petersen Industries.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate and detailed inspection reports
    • Complete required paperwork and logs
  • Safety Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies
    • Promote a safety-first culture among team members and customers
  • Problem-Solving:
    • Identify and implement solutions to improve efficiency and safety
  • Communication Skills:
    • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal English (bilingual Spanish is preferred)
  • Attention to Detail:
    • Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to identify potential hazards

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Mechanical and/or fabrication experience – min 2 years
  • Technical Skills: Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude required
  • Certifications:
    • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record;
    • relevant certifications (e.g., CDL, ASNT NDT LVL II) preferred Professional Certification

Working Conditions:

  • This is a 90% travel position requiring extensive travel throughout the United States and may at times include travel outside the United States

Physical requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy objects, work in various weather conditions, and climb ladders

Part Time Driver

Job Purpose:

  • This position is part-time and as needed for transporting Petersen Industries Loaders across the country
  • Note: this position does not offer employee benefits.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Short-haul new truck deliveries in and around Florida
  • Long-haul new truck deliveries across the United States
  • Complete expense reports for any travel costs

Qualifications:

  • Class B CDL - minimum

Working Conditions:

  • Occasional overnight trips

Physical requirements:

  • D.O.T. regulated
